Five of the Poppies’ next seven league matches are at Latimer Park, starting with a huge clash against fellow strugglers Boston United tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

Having lost 2-0 at Alfreton Town at the weekend, Glover’s team remain in the final relegation spot heading into this evening’s game with Boston, who are managed by former Poppies boss Ian Culverhouse, just one point and one place above them.

With 20 games still to go, all will not be lost for either club tonight but the margin for error is getting smaller as each week passes.

Tonight will signal Kettering’s first home game for almost two months with the last time they played at Latimer Park being way back on December 6 when they were beaten 1-0 by Gloucester City.

And with a lot of rearranged home matches to come, Glover knows his team’s results at Latimer Park will be crucial.

“Everything is in the mix for me to look at before the game with Boston,” the Poppies boss said after his team’s defeat at Alfreton.

“Tuesday’s game will have a totally different feel.

“We are at home for the first time in 60-odd days and that’s difficult for any club to deal with.

“We have hung in there and got near those teams in front of us.

“But we need to make our games count, especially at home and keep picking up stuff away.”

It is set to be an emotional evening at Latimer Park with the Poppies paying tribute to former Under-16, 18 and 21 player Kelsey Walsh who tragically passed away at the age of just 23 last week.

Kettering will celebrate his life with a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off tonight.
