Northamptonshire rivals Brackley Town and Kettering Town have been paired together in the third qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The two Vanarama National League North sides progressed through their second qualifying round ties at the weekend and will now meet in the next stage at Brackley's St James Park home next Tuesday (October 13) night (7.45pm kick-off).

The Poppies enjoyed a 2-0 success over National League South outfit Chelmsford City at Latimer Park in their season opener on Saturday thanks to goals from Lorne Bickley and Decarrey Sheriff.

The Saints, meanwhile, fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Billericay Town at St James Park thanks to two goals in the last 10 minutes from debutant Bradley Rolt before winning the resulting penalty shoot-out 4-2.

As it stands, with elite sport currently being played without fans, the tie will be played behind closed doors.

Both teams are currently preparing for the start of the league season tomorrow evening with Brackley travelling to AFC Telford United and Kettering on the road at Gloucester City
