Borough are aiming to win the competition for only the fifth time in the club's history, and for the first time in more than 30 years.

Jake Stone's side booked their place in the final with a 3-1 last four win over Corby Town last month, while Posh only sealed their spot in the showpiece final last week.

They were 1-0 winners at Southern League Premier Central side Kettering Town thanks to a goal from Benji McWilliams-Marcano.

They will provide testing opposition for the Doughboys, and their coach Sam Gaughran believes the match against the Poppies has set them up nicely for the final.

"Kettering were a strong group of men and they non-leagued us a bit in the second half, they got the ball into the channels, put lots of crosses into the box," aid Gaughran,

"I enjoyed our players standing up to that challenge. Kettering threw men forward, but the amount of headers, blocks and last-ditch tackles we put in was pleasing.

"In Academy football, you don't normally get that unbelievable intensity and desire to keep the ball out of the back of the net.

"I was really pleased with the night. We played some great football and then showed tremendous character to keep the ball out of the net."

The Doughboys will go into the game off the back of a 1-0 defeat at Anstey Nomads on Saturday, with their hosts claiming the Pitching-In Northern Premier League Midlands Division title and promotion in the process.

Anstey netted the only goal of the game 14 minutes from time, in front of a crowd just shy of 1,400.

The defeat rounded off a disappointing end to the season for Borough, who failed to win any of their last five games, drawing two and losing three, and won just one of their final 10 outings.

The big frustration for Stone will be that his side ended the campaign in ninth place and just seven points adrift of the play-offs.
