Shariff, who came through the ranks at Rushden & Diamonds before having spells with the likes of Tamworth and Corby Town, has joined from Northamptonshire rivals Daventry Town.

However, the 23-year-old has been ruled out of the last couple of games with Daventry Town due to a chest infection and it is expected to be another two or three weeks before he is fit to make his debut for the Dog & Duck club.

Former Leicester City frontman Stevenson, however, will be available for tomorrow’s Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central home clash with North Greenford United after he also completed a move to Diamonds.

The 33-year-old lists the likes of Swindon Town, Alfreton Town, Tamworth and Corby amongst his former clubs while he also featured against Diamonds in the UCL Premier Division for Oadby Town.

Peaks had previously confirmed he was on the hunt for a striker with Tom Liversedge ruled out due to a knee problem.

And the Diamonds boss said: “I’m delighted Nabil has joined, we had a look at each other in pre-season but I had my striking options sorted and Nabil joined Daventry where he has played really well and scored frequently at the same level.

“Obviously the fans will remember him when he was on fire in the Conference and I have no doubt he has a massive part to play in the club’s future.

“Jon brings something very different to the squad, he’s obviously got great experience and I am sure fans will remember how well he performed against us whilst at Oadby. Every time I have seen him play he has been the standout player.

“He has been won over by the club and feels he has another chapter in his career and can’t wait to get started.”
