The frontman, who was a hit with Diamonds fans at the end of last season, has signed on a one-month loan deal from Brackley Town and will be in line to feature in Saturday’s home clash with Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Bowen joined Diamonds from Cogenhoe United for the latter stages of last season and hit three goals including the opener in the 2-1 success at Royston Town in the Southern League Division One Central play-off semi-final.

Now he has returned to assist in Diamonds’ run-in as they bid to secure a play-off place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One Central.

The club confirmed the signing following the postponement of last night’s (Tuesday) clash at Chasetown.

And Peaks was unable to hide his delight at the latest addition to his squad.

“It was disappointing to lose Jack after the end of last season but I respected his decision to go to a higher level,” the Diamonds boss said.

“But I have been talking to Kevin Wilkin at Brackley for a while and now we have been able to do it.

“It’s a good opportunity or Jack to come and play some games and it is an area I felt we needed to strengthen in, it adds competition.

“We have good, all-round players in the attacking areas but I think it’s fair to say we have lacked an out and out goalscorer in the past couple of seasons.

“They aren’t easy to come by but Jack is a goalscorer and he really enjoyed his time here at the end of last season.

“In our situation, with 12 games to go, I need to do my utmost to give us the best possible chance of getting in the play-offs and Jack coming in is a massive boost for us.”
