Danny's the boy for delighted Doughboys as leaders Carlton are stunned at Dog & Duck
Wellingborough Town are up to sixth in the Pitching-In Northern Premier League Midlands Division after they secured a superb 1-0 victory over champions-elect Carlton Town on Saturday.
The Doughboys, who were beaten 3-1 at home by second-placed Belper Town last weekend, hosted the runaway leaders at the Dog & Duck, and inflicted on them only a fourth defeat of the season as they fought their way to an impressive 1-0 win.

Danny Draper was the match winner for Jake Stone's side, slotting home the only goal of the game on 61 minutes.
The win lifts Borough up to sixth, just one place and one point outside the play-offs, and they can move into the top five with a win at Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday night.
The Doughboys' victory on Saturday also saw them go above county rivals Corby Town, with the Steelmen slipping to 11th after they suffered a 3-1 loss at Mickleover.
The Steelmen actually took the lead thanks to an own goal on 17 minutes, but the home side had levelled the scores by the break, and went on to win it with a second-half double, netting on 57 and 77 minutes to secure the points.
The defeat saw Corby drop to 11th, but are still only three points off the top five.
Leon Mettam's side are back in action on Wednesday night when they go to Boldmere St Michaels.
Hot on the Steelmen's heels and to points behind them in in 12th are AFC Rushden & Diamonds, who secured a hard-earned point in a 1-1 draw at play-off chasing Racing Club Warwick on Saturday.
The home side took the lead 10 minutes into the second half, but Diamonds hit back to level on 70 minutes, with Jordan O'Brien scoring his first goal for the club.
Elliot Sandy's side have a free midweek before they host St Neots Town at Hayden Road on Saturday.
