Crawford staying and Marshall returns as Corby Town boss Mettam gets busy
Corby Town boss Leon Mettam has started to nail down his squad for the new Pitching-In Northern Premier League Midlands Division campaign.
The Steelmen have been able to announce the retention of a string of key players, while it has also been confirmed that Reuben Marshall is returning to Corby after he left the club following the departure of Gary Setchell last December.

Of the players being retained, perhaps the most eye-catching is the re-signing of key midfielder Jordon Crawford, who rejoined the club at the beginning of last season after stints at a higher level with both Brackley Town and Harborough Town.
A club statement read: "We are delighted to confirm that Jordon Crawford has agreed to commit to Corby Town for the 26/27 season.
"Crawf needs no introduction, a flair player during his first stint at the club that earned him the NLP Young Player of the Season, Jordon left to further himself and returned last term a more rounded and mature player.
"Picking up the armband at the turn of the year, Crawf has shown fantastic leadership in a young inexperienced squad and we are buzzing to see what is in store for the leader next season."
Another key signing for Mettam is Carter Widdowson, who was brought to the club by the Steelmen boss last season, but then suffered an untimely injury.
A club statement read: "We are delighted to confirm that Carter Widdowson has agreed to commit to Corby Town for the 26/27 season.
"Carter featured twice for the Steelmen at the end of last season before missing the last month with a hamstring injury.
"Back fit and ready to show why he is well sought after, we look forward to seeing him back at Steel Park."
The other players confirmed to be staying at Steel Park are Matteo Perkins, James Matthews, Bradley Gothard and Eunice Lievens.
"They will all be back under the lights at Steel Park next season following a string of superb performances," read a club statement.
"After making the move up to Step 4, the lads attracted plenty of attention during the close season — but thankfully for the Steelmen faithful, they’ve decided Steel Park is still the place to be."
