Steve Kinniburgh and his Corby Town players are eyeing an FA Cup upset at Stockport County this weekend

It promises to be a big day for the Steelmen as they step out in front of a big crowd at Edgeley Park against a team from two levels above them in the third qualifying round.

A large following are expected to travel up the M6 to back Kinniburgh’s in-form team as they bid to move a step closer to the first round proper.

And while the manager knows it is a “big day out” for the club, he insists his players must focus on the opportunity in front of them.

The Steelmen are bang in form having made an unbeaten start to the Evo-Stik League South Division One Central campaign while also making progress in the Buildbase FA Trophy as well as the FA Cup.

Now they are eyeing up an upset against the Vanarama National League North side and Kinniburgh said: “It’s obviously a big day out for the club, it’s probably one of the biggest games in Corby’s recent history and I think everyone will be going up there to enjoy the occasion.

“We will have a good number of fans going up to watch us and I think that just further shows that people are getting behind this team, which is great.

“But because of how we have been this season and how we are going at the moment with our current form, I think it is also an opportunity for us.

“We have the chance to go and play one of the biggest clubs in non-League football and see what we can produce against them. You never know what can happen on the day.

“We will go there and give it our best shot and do all we can to get a positive result."
