The former Kettering Town assistant-manager took over at Sergeants Lawn last summer and enjoyed a successful campaign with Corinthians.

The club had record-breaking runs in both the Emirates FA Cup and Buildbase FA Vase and reached the final of the UCL Knockout Competition for the first time where they were due to play Premier Division rivals Holbeach United before the season was cancelled following the controversial decision from the Football Association last week.

Despite a fine season, Austin is keen to explore new options for the next campaign, whenever that starts.

“I did not want to spring this on the club at the end of the season," said Austin who confirmed his decision before the campaign was cancelled.

"This has been the best club I’ve been at by a country mile, the people of Rothwell are the most welcoming I’ve ever met in life not just in football.

“I just need a bit more – I want to try to compete for titles and I want to progress up the ladder."

Corinthians were sitting in eighth place in the Premier Division table when the season was brought to a halt.
