Josh Moreman put the champions-elect in front after eight minutes and Mark Jones wrapped it up with a second-half goal.

Wellingborough Town were also beaten by high-flying opponents as second-placed Deeping Rangers won 4-2 at the Dog & Duck.

The Doughboys were 3-0 down early in the second half before Albert Akinremi pulled one back.

Deeping added another to seal the points but Wellingborough grabbed another thanks to Jack Wisniewski’s penalty.

Rothwell Corinthians fought back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw with Peterborough Northern Star at Sergeants Lawn.

Jake Mason gave the visitors the lead in the second half but a Matthew Cox own-goal earned Corinthians a point.

Whitworth kept up their promotion bid in Division One by beating local rivals Rushden & Higham United 4-0 at London Road.

Goals from Remy Brittain, James Gorman, Dean Hall and Jack Dyson sealed the Flourmen’s win to keep them four points off the promotion places with games in hand.

Bugbrooke remain in the second promotion spot after they beat Irchester United 3-1.

Raunds Town did their damage in the first half as they beat Lutterworth Athletic 3-1 at Kiln Park.

Jamie Russell opened the scoring before two goals in five minutes from Nat Gosnal-Tyler made it 3-0 before the break. Lutterworth pulled one back in the second half.

Thrapston Town suffered a 2-0 defeat to Blackstones at Chancery Lane while bottom club Stewarts & Lloyds went down 4-2 at Long Buckby.

Fellow strugglers Burton Park Wanderers, meanwhile, were just edged out 2-1 at sixth-placed Potton United.
