Dowson in for Wood as Saints make one change for Falcons clash

Phil Dowson has been recalled to the Saints starting line-up for Friday night’s Aviva Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons at Franklin’s Gardens (ko 7.45pm).

Dowson replaces Tom Wood in the back row in the only change from last Saturday’s 30-25 win over Harlequins at Twickenham.

The fomer Newcastle player will also skipper Saints against his former club.

Wood starts on the bench, where he will be joined by hooker Matti Williams and scrum-half Joel Hodgson, with Kahn Fotuali’i ruled out through injury.
