Willey wants Steelbacks to keep foot on the gas as they go to Durham
Skipper David Willey has urged his Northants Steelbacks team-mates to keep their foot on the gas after a stellar start to this season’s Vitality T20 Blast.
The Steelbacks made it four wins from as many matches last Sunday as they chased down a huge 208 for seven to win by six wickets at Warwickshire Bears.

Chris Lynn was the star of the show as he smashed an unbeaten 115 from just 59 balls.
But the Steelbacks have had plenty of heroes in the competition so far, mirroring the strong start they had last season.
They eventually made it all the way to the semi-finals, but lost form towards the end of the group stage.
And Willey is keep to guard against the same thing happening again as he tells his men to keep kicking on, starting with Saturday's trip to Durham (start time 7pm).
"It's about keeping our foot on the gas, not becoming complacent," Willey said. "That was a real issue we had last year and you lose momentum in the game and it bites you in the backside.
"We want to keep pushing forward and play our best cricket as the tournament goes on.
"What's great this year is that it's all in one block, and that will help us massively."
Lynn should help the Steelbacks continue their fine form as he looks in great touch, just as he did on finals day last year, when he proved to be the Northants nemesis, blasting a ton as Hampshire beat Darren Lehmann's men in the final-four encounter at Edgbaston.
"Lynny did it to us on finals day last season so for him to come out and return the favour on Sunday was lovely to see," Willey said.
"It's funny because when you're watching him bat and he's on your team, you can think this could look pretty ugly.
"And when you're running up and bowling at him, you think 'gosh, this could go for six anywhere between cover and fine leg'.
"He's really difficult to bowl at when he's on, and that's why we've got him.
"He's such a dangerous player and he wins games singlehandedly."
There is a squad of 14 heading to Durham this weekend, but Louis Kimber drops out after suffering a hamstring injury in the win against Warwickshire.
Kimber is expected to miss around three to four weeks of action but there is hope that his return could come sooner.
