The match on Tuesday, July 20, has been arranged as a warm-up for the County ahead of their Royal London One Day Cup campaign, that begins the following Sunday when Glamorgan visit Wantage Road.

Northants were originally scheduled to take on their neighbours at Bedford School, but the cancellation of the India versus India A tour match that was due to be played at the County Ground from July 21-24 has freed things up and allowed the teams to switch venues.

Each first-class county is playing a National County side in a 50-over match ahead of the London One Day Cup starting.

Northants chief executive Ray Payne said: "Northamptonshire is delighted that there is opportunity within our summer cricket schedule to play our National County neighbour here at the County Ground.

“The relationship between the two counties is as strong as it has ever been, with some promising emerging players coming through from Bedfordshire as part of our Academy and within our first team squad.

“This fixture allows them to showcase their skills on the County Ground stage.”
