The left-arm spinner is one of four changes to the squad that was named for the win over Glamorgan, with the other players back in the frame being all-rounder Tom Taylor and fast bowler Brandon Glover.

Dropping out are injured skipper Adam Rossington, as well as seam bowlers Nathan Buck and Jack White.

Ricardo Vasconcelos will replace Rossington as wicket-keeper and captain.

Kerrigan missed last weekend's win over Glamorgan due to a side strain, but after a Tuesday morning fitness test at the County Ground he was given the all clear.

Taylor was rested for the clash against the Welsh county, but he is back in contention for a start in Leeds, while Netherlands international Glover is named in a squad for the first time this season.

Alex Wakely remains absent for personal reasons.

Yorkshire who currently sit second in the table after two wins and a draw, have named a 12-man squad for the clash to take on fourth-placed Northants.

England skipper Joe Root played in the White Rose's first three games of the season, but has been told to sit this one out by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

Former Northants all-rounder David Willey has been named in the squad, as well as England off-spinner Dom Bess and former England Test batsmen Gary Ballance and Adam Lyth, who has so far this term scored a mighty 488 runs at an average of 97.6.

Star performers with the ball so far this season for Yorkshire have been skipper Steve Patterson and South African Duanne Olivier, with the pair having already taken 21 wickets between them.

Bess struggled in the first couple of matches, but produced a match-winning spell of six for 53 to bowl out Sussex last Sunday.
