The domestic fixture list is expected to have a different look to it next season with two of the three competitions undergoing significant change.

The Royal London t20, which the County will be defending, will now consist of 14 group games as opposed to 10 with the competition being stretched over a 10-week period.

The majority of games will take place at the end of the week, a shift in emphasis that the County have always been in favour of.

Last season’s Yorkshire Bank 40 has been replaced by the Royal London 50, a 50-over tournament which will take place in the second half of the summer.

The change is designed to bring the county game in line with its international cousin and it will incorporate identical playing conditions.

The Championship remains the same with the only alteration being that a number of games will start on Sundays.

See the website on Tuesday and next week’s Northants Telegraph and Chronicle & Echo for the County’s full 2014 fixture list.
