Cardiff Blues ready to install temporary stands at Arms Park as Saints and Bath fans protest about venue

The clubs will contest the Amlin Challenge Cup final in the Welsh capital on May 23, with both given close to 1,000 tickets for the event at the 12,125 capacity stadium.

Saints sold all of their allocation inside the first 24 hours of going on sale and that has left many supporters who couldn’t get a ticket disgruntled.

Some have resorted to paying inflated prices online to find a way of attending the match, which the ERC has been selling tickets for since September.

But Holland is confident a resolution can be found and he is happy to look into a way of increasing the attendance.

“We are delighted to have this game and see the Arms Park as a great venue,” the Cardiff Blues CEO told Wales Online.

“We were approached and offered the chance to host this game but it is not our event, we’re just providing the venue.

“But if ERC want to explore the possibility of putting in temporary seating to increase the capacity, we are more than happy to work with them on that.”

With many fans expressing their disappointment on social media, one has taken things one step further, setting up a petition in a bid to show the ‘strong feelings’ of both sets of supporters.

“We petition that the ticket allocation given to both clubs are far too small to accomodate supporters of both clubs wishing to attend,” said Jon Evans on the website he has set up.

“Given that the majority of tickets have already been sold we petition that the ERC move the venue to a suitable venue that can accommodate such demand.”
