Luther Burrell, who has started all three games in the tournament, is set to recover from a calf strain to join his team-mates on the Pennyhill Park paddock on Tuesday.

Alex Corbisiero, Dylan Hartley, Courtney Lawes, Tom Wood, Calum Clark and Stephen Myler will also be present after getting the call.

Of those, only Hartley has had any Six Nations game time, with the Saints skipper having faced Wales, Italy and Ireland.

Lawes and Wood have made successful returns from ankle injuries, helping their club beat Harlequins and draw with Gloucester in the past two Premiership games.

Their presence, plus Burrell’s recovery from the injury sustained in the defeat to Ireland, is a major boost for England head coach Stuart Lancaster as his side bid to keep title hopes alive.

“Luther should be fit to train tomorrow,” Lancaster said. “We are looking forward to two full days of training before we announce the side on Wednesday.”
