Watch as Corby MMA fighter, Jordan "The Epidemic" Vucenic, becomes NEW Cage Warriors featherweight champion

Corby's Jordan "The Epidemic" Vucenic became the new world featherweight champion tonight (Saturday) after defeating Frenchman Morgan Charriere on a split decision at Cage Warriors 122.

Vucenic went the whole five rounds against the defending champion Charriere at London's York Hall, with the judges scoring 46-49, 48-47, 48-47 in favour of the Corby fighter.

The emotional 25-year-old said after winning the title: "I've put everything I've got into this sport. I don't have a life outside it because I put so much into it. It's just crazy to think I've finally done it. It was just amazing to be in there."

Vucenic was far the more active fighter in the octagon, attempting and landing a higher amount of leg kicks and strikes, and defending well throughout.

The Cage Warriors co-presenter said of Vucenic: "He was walking around like it was his front room. You see how much he dedicates himself to this sport and how much it means to him."

"His opponent didn't engage him," the presenter added.

When asked how he will defend his title, Vucenic said: "I'm the champion, I've got to fight whoever. I'm not going to shy away from anybody. I'll defend it against anyone."

Vucenic said how he plans to celebrate. "I'm going to go home, eat some food and spend some time with my girlfriend," he added.

The fighter trains at BST Academy, based in Sixfields, which Vucenic has described as "one of the best in the world".
