Why Wrenn gives students the best secondary school start – visit their Open Days in October

Headteacher Laura Parke explains why Wrenn School gives students the best start to their secondary journey and why its staff are at the cutting edge of education. See for yourself at two Open Evenings on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd October.
We have the perfect opportunity to offer your child the very best start to their secondary journey. We are the only school in the Wellingborough district with a dedicated lower school and upper school site.
Using our buildings as a way of separating Key Stages has been a fantastic triumph, especially for our Year 7 students who find transitioning from a primary such a daunting step.
Year 7 students are on Doddington Road with the Year 8s and 9s; we fell that this is an environment which allows them to flourish.
Our Key Stage 3 students stay on their home site of Doddington Road to access their curriculum learning, they do not cross to London Road. Doddington Road provides the whole suite of specialist facilities to enable students to develop learning and build essential life skills.

All teachers are challenged to be consistently outstanding and learning is rigorously reviewed.
Our personalised staff training programme ensures that our staff are at the cutting edge of educational theory and practice. Many of our members of staff are published educational authors and we work closely with the Chartered College of Teaching and the University of Buckingham to share and further develop our exceptional practice with others.
We set aspirational and challenging targets for our students which are reviewed frequently. We assess regularly and parents are kept informed of their child’s progress and how they can improve. Throughout the year, we invite our parents into school to share information and learning strategies in bespoke workshops and parents’ evenings.
We encourage all students to be ambitious and to question expectations of themselves. We provide them with learning opportunities that will allow them to develop confidence and the skills they need to pursue their future ambitions.
