I never knew how much I would love my Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker - and the latest model is on sale with more than 30% in the Amazon Spring Deal Days sale.
If there’s one gadget in my home that I use more than any other, it’s my Wonderboom waterproof speaker. I use it every day and I just love it.
The latest model, Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, is available with more than 30% off on Amazon right now as part of the retailer’s Spring Deal Days event. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I was gifted mine, which is an older model, as a complete surprise around seven years ago. A thoughtful friend thought it could be just the thing for me after I’d spoken about wishing I could listen to my favourite music in the shower or the bath, instead of just having to listen to whatever was being played on my shower radio.
I admit that while I was grateful for the present I was extremely skeptical at first. Truthfully, my first thought was that the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom couldn’t be truly waterproof and would surely break in a short amount of time if actually got wet repeatedly.
How wrong I was. At first I only dared place the speaker outside of my shower cabinet so that no direct water contact was made, but although the sound quality is excellent I obviously didn’t get the same listening experience when it was at a distance from me and competing with running water as I showered.
So, after a little while I dared to move my Ultimate Ears Wonderboom into the shower cabinet with me. Now I don’t shower without it and use it every morning and night. It sits in the corner, out of the way, but gets covered in water every day - and I confess I’m one of those people who has a 30 minute shower in the evening. I have discovered that it absolutely is waterproof. In fact, it’s actually designed to be submerged in 1m of water for half an hour.

Please note, the price varies according to the colour chosen, but the price ranges between £55.49 and £61.99 - was £89.99, saving over 30% in all cases. Colours available are black, white and pink. A lilac version is also available with 10% off at £69.99.

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom is also great for travel because its compact size and light weight means it’s extremely easy to take with you wherever you go. I’ve taken mine on holiday, to friend’s houses, even simply from room-to-room in my house with me while I get the chores done.
It’s also perfect for garden parties. Because it connects via Bluetooth, where’s no need to worry about wrires or the need for a power source with the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, it literally can go anywhere. It provides up to 14 hours of playback on a single charge too so no need to worry about the battery running out midway through a social gathering . . . or shower concert.

I’m not surprised that it has 79% five star reviews on Amazon. Some reviewers have noted issues with the bass - some say the quality is not good enough, but others say the bass is overpowering. This shows that every user experience is unique and the same product can provide very different experiences for different users.
I haven’t found an issue with any part of the sound quality and think it’s very impressive, though I do know I have an older model. The best thing you can do is give the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom give it a go yourself, and when it’s on sale is the perfect time to buy.
If you would like a cheaper alternative, now’s time to try the Ultimate Ears MINIROLL Ultra-Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, also on sale in the Amazon Spring Days deal event. Prices range between £31.99 and £37.98, offering at least a 16% saving, depending on the colour chosen, with black, white and pink options available.
