Amazon’s bargain Bluetooth speaker deal has IP68 waterproofing and RGB lights

A pocket-sized Bluetooth speaker with RGB lights, IP68 waterproof protection and up to eight hours of battery life has dropped to £18.99 in a limited-time Amazon deal.

The buwy G7 mini Bluetooth speaker is listed in rose gold at £18.99, down from an RRP of £32.99. That is a 42% saving at the time of writing, while the grey version is also showing at £18.99. Deep purple is listed at £19.99 and glossy black at £19.98, with prices varying by colour.

For anyone after a small speaker for garden tables, holidays, bathrooms, bedrooms or desk use, the Bluetooth speaker deal has a few useful features beyond simple wireless playback. Amazon shows a 4.6-star rating from 85 reviews, with more than 100 bought in the past month.

The portable speaker uses Bluetooth 5.4, which is listed as offering fast pairing, a stable signal and low-latency playback up to 15 metres away. It is compatible with phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs, and the listing says no app or driver is needed.

Its built-in microphone is another handy touch at this price, allowing the mini wireless speaker to be used for hands-free calls. That could make it useful on a desk, in a kitchen, or while travelling if someone wants louder audio than a phone speaker can manage.

The buwy Bluetooth speaker is rated at 3W maximum output power and is described as using dual drivers for stereo sound. The listing also mentions bass boost, which may appeal to anyone who wants a compact speaker for playlists, podcasts, gaming or watching videos away from the TV.

One of the more social features is the RGB lighting. The G7 mini speaker has seven dynamic light modes that can pulse, fade or cycle with music, although the lights can also be turned off when a calmer setup is preferred. That gives it a bit more personality for parties, garden evenings, children’s rooms or gifting.

Battery life is listed at up to eight hours on a single charge at 60% volume. The box includes a USB-C charging cable and quick-start guide, so it should be ready to use without needing to hunt down another charging lead.

The waterproof Bluetooth speaker also carries an IP68 rating, which is a useful reassurance for outdoor use, travel and everyday splashes. It is still sensible to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions, but the rating makes it more practical for use around gardens, camping setups and bathrooms than a standard indoor-only speaker.

Another feature that could make the Amazon speaker deal more appealing is stereo pairing. The listing says two speakers can be connected at once, allowing buyers to create a wider sound setup if they pick up a second unit.

The size is also part of the attraction. This is a small, tabletop-style speaker rather than a large party speaker, so it is likely to appeal most to people who want something light, colourful and easy to carry between rooms or pack for a weekend away.

Amazon is also showing free returns at the time of writing, which may help buyers comparing budget Bluetooth speakers from lesser-known brands. As always, colour prices, availability and promotional terms can change quickly, so it is worth checking the final basket total before ordering.

At £18.99, this buwy mini speaker could make sense as a low-cost travel gadget, garden speaker or gift for someone who wants portable sound with a splash of colour.
