However, according to a tweet from TV critic and broadcaster, Scott Bryan, Channel 4 is reviving the series.

"Davina McCall to present it. Laurence Llewelyn Bowen will be a designer in it," wrote Bryan on 9 October.

There was initially speculation that original host Carol Smillie may return to the reboot, but this doesn't appear to be the case.

How to apply

The good news doesn't end there for Changing Rooms fans - you can also apply to be on the programme.

The application form says, "The makeover will transform a specific room in your home, excluding the kitchen and bathroom(s). Each makeover team is given a budget for the makeover, which is paid for by the production."

To apply, you'll need to make a short video (maximum three minutes long) introducing yourself and any family members who might appear with you on the show. You'll also need to explain which room in your home you would like to have upgraded and why.

You must be over the age of 18 (as of 15 October 2020), have the legal right to reside in the UK, and be the legal owner or co-owner of the property you want to makeover.

Filming will take place over four consecutive days between autumn 2020 and spring 2021, so you must be available for this.

"As part of your application you will need to nominate a friend or neighbour to take part in the programme with you. It needs to be someone who lives within 5 minutes walking distance of your house," the rules state.

All filming will be safe and carried out following Covid-safe guidelines.
