Woman taken to hospital after four-vehicle crash near Kettering

A woman was taken to hospital with what is believed to be a broken leg after a four-vehicle crash near Kettering this morning (Tuesday).

Police closed the A43 near the Barford Bridge roundabout after the smash at about 8.10am.

The crash involved a Smart car, a Fiat 500, a box van and a HGV.

A police spokesman said one woman was left with what is believed to be a broken leg but that there are no life-threatening injuries.

Fire crews from Kettering, Rothwell and Mereway, including the technical rescue vehicle, attended the crash with one person extricated from a car.

The Kettering to Corby stretch was re-opened by police just after 9.30am, with the Corby to Kettering carriageway re-opening fully about an hour later.
