They were asked to submit all valid receipts, which were all entered into a raffle.

Discover Wellingborough is organised by the Wellingborough Business Improvement District (BID), which is paid for by town centre businesses.

The giveaway was part of the BID’s Christmas festivities, which were designed to encourage people into the town centre over the busy period.

BID manager John Cable said: “The competition really helped to drum up support for many of the local businesses in the town, it’s important they stay healthy for the growth of our town centre.

“It was great to see so many people enter, and I’m sure that all of the businesses involved thoroughly enjoyed the increased support they received during the busy schedule.”
