Along with being the judges’ choice, Jemma also won the public vote and was the top fundraiser in the heat, raising more than £400 in the space of one month for the Miss World charity Beauty with a Purpose.

Fourteen contestants from all over the country were selected from an audition to compete in the first Miss England semi-final heat.

Miss England national director Angie Beasley said: “The competition is about being beautiful inside and out, we are not just looking for a pretty face.”

The semi-final will be held at Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire.
