Wellingborough van fire may have been started deliberately

A van fire in Wellingborough this morning (Tuesday) may have been started using an accelerant, fire officers believe.

The incident happened in Kestrel Lane, just before 2am.

The owner of the Renault van woke to the sound of a car alarm.

He then discovered the passenger window of his van had been smashed and the vehicle was alight.

Fire officers believe the fire was started minutes earlier and that an accelerant had been poured inside it to start the blaze.
