Wellingborough primary school appoints new headteacher
The new headteacher of a Wellingborough primary school says she is committed to making the school '˜as good as it possibly can be'.
Angela Watts has been appointed as the new principal of Ruskin Academy by The Education Fellowship, and she will take up her new post on September 1.
She says she is proud to join the school, which underwent extensive building work last summer.
Mrs Watts said: “I am extremely proud to have been appointed as the principal at Ruskin Academy.
“I look forward to working with the staff, children and parents to drive improvements forward to ensure that the school is the best it can possibly be.
“I am committed to delivering the best education and opportunities to every child and family within the school community.
“I feel privileged to join The Education Fellowship and am excited to become part of the team.”
The two-form entry school currently has 325 pupils and is being led by interim principal Anna Molony.
Lizzie Rowe, chief operating officer of The Education Fellowship, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Angela.
“She has an absolute passion, drive and commitment to improving children’s life chances and a proven track record in raising standards, aspirations and expectations in challenging circumstances.
“We’re sure she will provide the desired professional leadership and management, building on the secure foundations already in place, to make Ruskin move swiftly on in its journey to good and outstanding.
“She lives and breathes the vision and values of The Education Fellowship – integrity, embracing individuality and empowering the people around her – and the ambition to lead the Ruskin community to outstanding.”
