Wellingborough church school rated outstanding in latest inspection

As a church school, All Saints CEVA Primary School in Wellingborough is inspected every five years under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) inspection service.

It was rated as good at its previous inspection in 2011, but the school has now been told it is outstanding following its most recent assessment.

Deputy headteacher Val Griffiths said: “Our inspection was at the end of last year and we are very proud that we achieved outstanding, in actual fact we were graded as outstanding in all four areas inspected.”

The report said the distinctiveness and effectiveness of All Saints as a Church of England school are outstanding.

It also stated: “The school’s Christian character has a high profile and shapes its approach to building respect for diversity and difference.

”Distinctly Christian values shape the behaviour and relationships for all members of the school community.

“Inspirational religious education (RE) teaching encourages learners to apply their learning to their daily lives.

“The passionate leadership of the headteacher consistently models a vision rooted in Christian values.”

The report said the school was outstanding in all four areas of the inspection - meeting the needs of all learners, the impact of collective worship on the school community, the effectiveness of the religious education and the effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school.

As well as the SIAMS report, the school has just achieved the gold standard in the Religious Education Quality Mark, an award given for high quality RE teaching and learning, following an assessment at the beginning of January.

The school in Castle Street has 211 pupils on roll and a 52-place nursery.

It is part of the Five Wells Teaching School Alliance.
