Weetabix recognised at prestigious manufacturing awards

The Burton Latimer-based firm won regional recognition at this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

The company, which employs 1,200 staff, was runner-up in several categories including the developing people award and the health and safety award.

Paul Middlehurst, manufacturing manager at Weetabix, was also runner-up for the leadership award.

Neil Clarke, business unit operations manager at Weetabix, said: “This achievement is testament to our hard working and dedicated team, and we are delighted to have been recognised in this way.

Weetabix was up against stiff competition from a range of innovative businesses - small and large - from across the region.

It was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics after impressing them with, among other things, their proactive leadership and their practical approach to improving safety which has produced results.
