Weetabix boss to give speech

Weetabix’s chief executive officer is to speak at the third annual Northamptonshire Limited event next month.

Giles Turrell, of the Weetabix Food Company, will be a keynote speaker at the event which will include the unveiling of the results of a survey into the performance of the county’s top 100 independently-owned businesses .

During the event, organised by financial and business advisers Grant Thornton, Mr Turrell will share his experiences of working for the UK’s number one selling cereal brand, which has been made and sold in the UK since 1932.

The Weetabix Food Company has a major manufacturing plant in Burton Latimer and employs 1,800 staff worldwide.

MrTurrell said: “Northamptonshire Limited is a great opportunity to focus on the county’s incredibly diverse business scene . Last year’s study confirmed what we already know – that Northamptonshire is a great place to do business. I look forward to hearing this year’s results and sharing Weetabix’s exciting history, including how we overcame the global economic challenges in recent years.”

The Northamptonshire Limited study offers an in-depth financial analysis of the county’s top 100 independently-owned companies, evaluating details such as operating profit and employment figures, plus a breakdown of the financial data by sector. The study uses the latest company accounts available from the companies, selected based on turnover and trading address.

The results of Northamptonshire Limited 2015 will be announced at a breakfast event at the Northampton Saints Rugby Club on Wednesday, May 13.
