Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air ambulance celebrating its 25,000th mission

Since the first flight in 2003, the Air Ambulance, which receives no government funding, has helped fly thousands of people to hospital.

Former patients Jess Wellborn and Ivor Harris have joined the celebrations, thanking the charity and volunteers for its lifesaving work and speaking of their pride in the air ambulance crew.

Jess was rescued when she was hit by a car and Ivor was flown from Grange Park when a mini digger rolled on him.

Ivor urged people to give to the charity as it begins its next 25,000 missions.

He said: “I am so grateful to the air ambulance for all that it did for me. This vital service that really wouldn’t be here if we stopped supporting.”

The air ambulance is organising its own outdoor cinema and firework event for Northampton in September encouraging everyone to buy a ticket and support.

The air ambulance are also holding reunion events across the area for former patients as part of the 25,000 Missions Appeal celebrations this summer where you will be able to see the helicopter and meet the crew.
