They revealed this afternoon that they have found a hand gun, although it is not yet known if this is linked to Sarah’s disappearance.

DCI Martin Kinchin, speaking from the scene this morning, said they are searching this area because it may have been used by people who knew Sarah at the time of her disappearance in April 2000.

He said they may have dumped items there, which may have been stolen, and these could provide them with valuable information as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information about the disappearance of the Kettering teenager 16 years ago is asked to call the police on 101.
