Move Prop Estate Agents in Wellingborough captured this image with its drone

The picture, captured on a drone by Move Prop Estate Agents Ltd in Wellingborough, shows how far the blaze, which took hold in a field next to the A45 between Wellingborough and Rushden, spread.

Emergency services were called shortly before 4.30pm to the fire in a field near to the Irchester Bridge area.

Police had to close a section of the A45 from the Wilby Way roundabout to the junction with the A5001 and the B645 due to smoke coming across the road which was caused by the hay fire.

The road was re-opened by about 5.30pm.
