The ANPR team and dog unit searched the area and arrested two men, aged 30 and 38 on suspicion of theft.

The commander of the policing operation, Chief Superintendent Mick Stamper, said: “Our job is to make sure everybody who comes to enjoy the F1 British Grand Prix is able to do so in a safe and peaceful environment.

“Everybody on site has been very good natured and the atmosphere has been great.

“A further 140,000 fans are expected to pass through the gates tomorrow for the main race and I am confident they will all have a fantastic day.
