A spokesman for Northants Police said they moved onto the site on Sunday (May 24) at about 3.30pm, but no offences have been reported to them.

A spokesman for Wellingborough Council said: "The Borough Council of Wellingborough’s environmental health team were notified of an encampment at Swanspool Gardens, Wellingborough, on Monday 25 May.

"The council reported this to the County Traveller Unit, which is based at Northamptonshire County Council and who respond to unauthorised encampments.

"The borough council will work with the County Traveller Unit and Wellingborough Norse to follow the necessary steps in line with the Government’s latest guidance regarding Covid-19."
