Commuters are being warned of major delays on the A45 and getting into Brackmills following reports of a four-car shunt in Northampton this morning (Wednesday March 4).

The incident happened at around 8am on the where the westbound slip road from the Bedford Road roundabout joins traffic heading towards the M1 from Barnes Meadow Flyover.

One lane is currently blocked with emergency services and traffic officers on the scene.

Tailbacks on the Nene Valley Way quickly stretched back seven miles to the Earls Barton turn-offs.
