Six-mile queues on A14 in Northamptonshire following rush-hour crash

Traffic is tailing back for around six miles on the A14 near Rothwell followng a rush-hour crash.

HIghways England is reporting the smash between junction 4 and junction 5 on the eastbound side.

A spokesman said: "One lane is closed and there are currently delays of 40 minutes. Northants Police are currently at scene and recovery are on their way to the area to assist."

Speed sensors show traffic crawling as far back as junction 2 for the A508 at just after 8am.

There are also delays on the A6 as vehicles struggle to join the A14 at junction 4.
