It will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm tomorrow (Thursday) and on Friday.

Signs initially said the closure would be between 8am and 6pm each day but a county council spokesman said these would be replaced as soon as possible.

The spokesman said the closure is for routine maintenance with sections being resurfaced.

The road is currently in a poor condition for motorists travelling up the hill towards Corby with potholes and uneven surfaces.

The official diversion takes motorists who would normally travel down the hill across to the A43 to Duddington, along the A47 to Uppingham and then back down the A6003 towards Caldecott, with the diversion in reverse for those normally travelling up the hill.
