Police have confirmed a pedestrian was injured in a crash which closed the A43 and caused massive tailbacks on the A14 near Kettering on Monday morning.

Officers closed the A43 between Junction 7 on the A14 and Corby to deal with the incident at around 6.30am.

A spokesman for the Northamptonshire Force said: "We received reports of an RTC just off the A14 involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

"The pedestrian, a man in his late 20s, was taken to Kettering General Hospital with injuries. Thankfully they are not believed to be life threatening or life changing."

Queues of up to ten miles were reported on the A14 eastbound following the closure and traffic was still struggling to get back to normal at around 9am.
