Passengers from Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough travelling to London this weekend .. please change at LUTON!

Passengers from Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough heading for London this weekend will need to change trains at Luton to finish their trips.

Part of the approach to St Pancras International is closed by engineering works meaning East Midlands Railway travellers face longer journey times on both Saturday and Sunday.

Buses will also replace trains between Kettering and Corby as work on electrifying the Midland Main Line through Northamptonshire continues.

A spokesman for EMR said: "Major work is being carried out to renew track on the approach to St Pancras International station all weekend so our services will terminate at Luton.

"Thameslink services will continue to run between Luton and London but these services are expected to be busier than usual and mean passengers will arrive and depart from the low level platforms, A and B, instead of our usual ones numbered one to four.

"You may need to change platforms at Luton however there is no step free access at this station.

"Staff will be on hand to support however if you require step free access you should change trains earlier at Bedford to connect with services to London."

Journeys to and from London will take an extra 15-20 minutes from Wellingborough and Kettering. Passengers are advised to book tickets online to avoid having to queue at stations and check the National Rail Enquiries journey planner before leaving home.
