Overnight closures coming up on A45 between Stanwick and Raunds

A series of overnight closures will be taking place on the A45 between Stanwick and Raunds during October and November.

Highways England says the closures are necessary to carry out biodiversity ‘offsetting’ improvements to Mallows Grange, an area of land which runs parallel to the A45 between Stanwick and Raunds.

A letter sent out by Highways England to stakeholders says: "The work will achieve a net biodiversity gain, offsetting any reduction in the nearby A45 Chowns Mill Improvement scheme.

"Targeted habitat improvements including woodland thinning, tree and shrub planting, wildflower meadow cutting and otter holt creation.

"The night time closures are necessary for the safety of the workforce and to minimise disruption to daytime road users."

Here's details of the forthcoming road closures:

- Monday, October 12: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- W/C October 12: A45 Eastbound Stanwick to Raunds layby closed for 33 days until November 13 (24-7)

- Tuesday, November 3: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- Wednesday, November 4: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- Thursday, November 5: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- Friday, November 6: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- Monday, November 9: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

- Friday, November 13: A45 full closure east and westbound between Stanwick roundabout and Raunds (8pm to 6am)

Signed diversion routes will be in place during the closures.

The planned closures may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
