Motorcyclist seriously injured in A43 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision on the A43 on Friday (August 21).

The incident happened at about 6.10pm when the rider of a blue Triumph Trophy motorcycle was travelling north towards Kettering on the A43 near Broughton.

The man, in his 30s, is believed to have lost control of the bike and mounted the nearside pavement.

He was thrown from his bike and slid along the pavement before coming to rest on the grass verge.

He was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.

The A43 was closed between Mawsley and the A14 J8 roundabout in Kettering after the accident. The road is a major commuter route between Kettering and Northampton.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the incident.
