A man in his 60s was taken to hospital following a crash in Northampton town centre during Wednesday morning's rush hour.

Emergency services, including a Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue crew stationed at The Mounts nearby, were called to a crash at 8.20am involving a Ford Transit van and a silver Mercedes A-Class in Campbell Square.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "A man in his 60s was taken to Northampton General Hospital following the collision although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing."
