A spokesman said: "Traffic officers and recovery are currently at the scene but there are delays of 45 minutes on the approach to this incident on the A14 east within junction 5 for Rothwell.

""If your journey is essential please allow extra time this morning."

Another section of the A14 westbound could remain closed until around 1pm today (Tuesday) following a lorry crash at around 8pm last night.

An HGV overturned and hit the central reservation barrier.

The carriageway is shut from junction 16 to the Thrapston turn off for the A45 at junction 13.
