Northants Highways has tweeted about the road closure, saying: "We have put in an emergency road closure due to an unsafe building on Oaks Drive, Higham Ferrers.

"Sorry for the inconvenience but once we agree it is safe, we will reopen."

A spokesman for Higham Ferrers Town Council told the Northants Telegraph that the road has been closed as some building work being carried out there has been assessed as dangerous and the area should be avoided.
