Crash shuts A508 both ways between Northampton and Milton Keynes

The A508 is closed both ways between Northampton and Roade following a serious crash on Monday morning.

Northamptonshire Police traffic officers say the road, which links Junction 15 on the M1 with the A5 at Old Stratford, will be closed for "quite some time."

The smash, near the Blisworth turn, happened at around 11am and police are advising drivers making essential journeys to find an alternative route.

Motorists planning on using the A43 between Junction 15A and the A5 as an option should beware of slow traffic caused by an earlier vehicle fire on the southbound motorway.
