Train hits bike left on tracks near Desborough

A train struck a bicycle which had been left on the tracks at Desborough last night.

The southbound East Midlands train made an emergency stop at 8.12pm on Tuesday, February 23.

A spokesman for Network Rail said the train was not able to move again until 9.29pm, almost an hour and 20 minutes later.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident.
