Thought for the Week: Love still prevails, by Kat Taylor
The outlook appears that the world has lost its love for one another and that kindness and hope no longer exists.

At the beginning of July, we yet again had our summer Neighbourhood Food Collection (NFC) held in Tesco. This bi-annual event wouldn’t be possible without all those who donated and to those who volunteered from across the local community, with a special mention to the Girl Guides and the Brownies for their help.
Throughout the event hundreds of acts of kindness where given to us for those in need.

Furthermore, since the NFC began in 2012, more than a staggering 36 million meals have been collected. It’s the kindness of the nation that has made this possible!
And after the event, acts of kindness continue from the Tesco drivers who delivered the donated food in their spare time, the team from Mars UK who helped out to sort the food at the warehouse and all the Foodbank volunteers who distribute the food.

Hide AdJust like the story of the Good Samaritan, where he helps another person left for dead at the roadside. Others walked by and didn’t help but his act of kindness saved a life. The world is full of love and kindness, joy and peace, it’s a choice, a heart decision. Walk by or stop and change the outcome, the choice is ours to make.
We underestimate the power of kindness, even the small act of caring has the potential to turn a life around. I know this to be true! I see the ripple effects of the acts of kindness given to those in need within our community, it blesses, it changes lives, it provides hope and the greatest ripple of all, it shows love.
Be a day changer for someone or even a life changer. You never know the ripples from it may even change a nation or even the world.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
