Take a look at Wellingborough's Stanton Cross development taking shape

Progress on Wellingborough's new Stanton Cross development has been revealed through a series of construction photographs released by developer Bovis Homes.

The pictures show the new car park at Wellingborough Station as well as the foundations of the development’s new railway bridge and river bridge.

The foundations of the river bridge are 25 metres deep and the bridge itself will be 26 metres long.

The photos also show the equipment currently in use at Stanton Cross to deliver the new bridges, including a rare 160 tonne piling rig.

There are only three of these in the whole of the UK.

John Lougher, Bovis Homes Group land director responsible for Stanton Cross, said: “We are excited to be able to share the latest photographs of the works at Stanton Cross which demonstrate the great progress being made on site.

“Work so far includes laying the foundations of the railway and river bridges.

“The new car park and entrance to Wellingborough Station are also now complete and serving passengers.”

Stanton Cross is a £900 million major residential-led development which will transform Wellingborough with new homes, improved infrastructure, community facilities and green open space.

The development, which is being delivered by Bovis Homes, will include 3,650 homes and create more than 3,000 jobs.

In addition, it will provide 110 acres of employment land and new schools for Wellingborough when complete.
