Residents of the village, known for being the home of fictional character Bridget Jones' parents, took to Facebook to say they had seen lots of party-goers and several police vehicles.
However, the rave never got going because police were already on the scene.
A police spokesman said people started arriving at about 11pm on Saturday, January 18, at the woods in Brigstock Road, Grafton Underwood, which is where the disused airfield is.
Officers were there and turned the ravers away.
There were no arrests.
